Planning

The West Midlands Regional Assembly works on behalf of West Midlands Local Government Association in this area.

The Assembly acts as the Regional Planning Body. It established the Regional Planning Partnership to set planning priorities for the region and aid the implementation of the West Midlands Spatial Strategy.

The Spatial Strategy sets an ambitious agenda and covers subjects ranging from housing, economic development and the built, historic and natural environment, to renewable energy, minerals, waste and transport. The Strategy also guides the preparation of local authority development plans and local transport plans.

Contact Officer: Sharon Britton 0121 678 1042
