BUMP supports young unaccompanied asylum seekers and refugees between the ages of 14 - 18 years old, providing a positive, youth focused environment where young unaccompanied minors can have fun, meet with other young people from their local community and find out more about opportunities in the area... more...
Stoke-on-Trent Citizens Advice Bureau developed an Access Course for refugee and asylum-seeking volunteers. The Access Course gives refugee trainees a background to the UK, Stoke-on-Trent, advice services, the welfare state etc. before joining their host community colleagues in the main 13 week advise skills training course. The Migration Excellence programme ran at Wychavon District Council from early 2007 to October 2008, and was delivered by the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA) and funded by Communities and Local Government (CLG). City of Sanctuary is a national awareness and action focused campaign that aims to make cities more welcoming to asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants. To support the number of work related issues and problems experienced by the Midland's Polish community, TUC funded the 2007 project at the Polish Centre in Birmingham.
