Housing
The West Midlands Regional Assembly (WMRA) works on behalf of the West Midlands Local Government Association in this area of Policy.
The West Midlands Regional Housing Executive (RHE) was established in September 2006, following the Government's decision to merge Regional Housing Boards' with the Regional Planning Bodies', under the Regional Assemblies'. The RHE is Chaired by Cllr John Lines, who serves as WMLGAs Portfolio Holder for Housing and is Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Housing at Birmingham City Council. The Executive is an Elected Member-led Body (X18 members) and includes representatives from Local Authorities across the four Housing Market Areas, the Voluntary & Community sector and the Business sector, together with Ex-Officio representatives from Government Office for the West Midlands (GOWM), the Housing Corporation (HC), Advantage West Midlands (AWM) and the Chair and Vice-Chairs of the Regional Planning Partnership (RPP).
The RHE is supported by the Regional Housing Advisory Forum (RHAF), which is an Officer-led Forum (X22 members approx). The Regional Housing Partnership (RHP), which is a wider Elected Member-Led reference group (x100 approx members) is currently frozen.
