Energy

The West Midlands Regional Assembly works on behalf of the West Midlands Local Government Association in this area.

The government's Energy White Paper sets out plans to address climate change while maintaining reliable energy supplies. It sets an ambitious target to reduce the UK's carbon dioxide emissions by 60% by 2050, as well as ensuring that every home is adequately and affordably heated.

The West Midlands Regional Energy Strategy has been produced by the Regional Assembly, Advantage West Midlands and Government Office for the West Midlands and other partners including local authorities and energy experts. The strategy covers issues such as climate change, energy efficiency and developments in technology.
