Performance Improvement

What we do....

Supporting Improvement

Focusing upon the needs of authorities in response to the Comprehensive Area Assessment we provide support to authorities via provision of Peer Challenge through the West Midlands Performance Assessment & Improvement Scheme which addresses corporate performance management, including a discrete corporate people management option. We work with authorities to ensure best use is made of available Capacity Building resources. We can provide you key performance improvement contacts within all authorities and offer guidance in respect of capacity building activity.

Contact: Jeremy Snape, Senior Regional Advisor - Performance Improvement

Member Development

The Regional Member Development Charter Steering Group has an objective of improving local authority performance through elected member development. We provide support to all the Region’s authorities, from Charter sign-up to through gaining the Charter and re-assessment. We can provide you with guidance on member development; source, on your behalf, consultancy support and training providers tailored to your Authority’s needs. We can provide you with a long term framework enabling your Authority to achieve continuous improvement.

Contact: Rebecca Davis, Senior Regional Advisor - Organisational Development and Performance Improvement

Overview and Scrutiny

We support the Region’s Overview & Scrutiny Network and its objective to improve the effectiveness of scrutiny in all local authorities. The Network was refreshed in 2007 and it's Terms of Refernece updated to ensure it was fit for purpose and meets the support needs of authorities as appropriate.

By visiting the Scrutiny page you can access details of the learning and development activity underatken over the last two years by the Region's Network. You can also access contact details of elected Members and scrutiny officers in each authority.
