Supporting Local Government Services
The West Midlands Leaders Board (WMLB) is the new regional decision making body for local government in the West Midlands. It has taken over the role formerly carried out by the West Midlands Local Government Association. A new website is under development. In the meantime, information about current activity is available on this website.
The Local Government Services Directorate embraces both the People and Organisational Improvementsupport provided by West Midlands LGA and internal Corporate Support Services. Across the HR and Performance Improvement agenda, West Midlands LGA provides a wide range of core consultancy services to both Local Authorities and Associate Partner organisations across the region.
Our remit includes:
- acting as the regional employers organisation
- supporting corporate performance improvement
- individual and organisational development
- capturing and dissemination of best practice and learning
We work closely with a range of partners including the Local Government Employers, IDeA and LGA, together with DCLG, GOWM and Audit Commission colleagues at a regional level. We are also responsible, alongside trade union colleagues for servicing and supporting the work of the West Midlands Provincial Council.
