This leaflet was published during our exhibition presence at all three political party conference in September 2008. Councils in the West Midlands believe that the most effective way to develop the Region's economy and improve quality of life for the people who live here is by working together in partnership with one another and government agencies, across the whole of the Region.

Strategic Plan 'Changing Places' - July 2008
The Strategic Plan outlines the Association's broad objectives and resource allocations for 2008/09 which are designed to further the strategic priorities. It provides and opportunity for both a stock take on the year gone by and an anticipation of the year ahead.

West Midlands - The Bigger Picture (July 2007)
A new statement setting out the need for national and local government to work as a team to meet the challenges facing the West Midlands and improve the lives of people in the Region. In the statement the Association says ‘a new relationship with central government, built on mutual trust and confidence is needed’.
The West Midlands Bigger Picture also supports Sir Michael Lyons call for more clarity over government’s expectations of councils and the funding they receive for public services.

Local Government - A Regional Force
